About Us

Robert A. Harris, MD

Dr. Harris trained in Radiation Oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, from 1996-2000. He subsequently became an attending physician in that program, serving as the Radiation Oncology Service Manager at the National Naval Medical Center. In that role he helped start the first intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) program in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. Upon completion of his Naval service in 2004, he relocated to Utah bringing with him a wealth of experience in using modern radiation therapy techniques, which have been shown to improve treatment outcomes and minimize side effects. Dr. Harris is board certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology.

Prior to his training in Radiation Oncology, Dr. Harris earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University in 1988, and his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 1992. He completed an internship at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, California in 1993. From 1993-1996 he served as an Undersea Medical Officer at the Submarine Medical Research Laboratory in New London, Connecticut. He is also board certified in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
