Gamma West is proud to offer advanced High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy to the Idaho Falls area at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Dr. Ryan Bair is a board-certified radiation oncologist who can perform and oversee this treatment for cancerous tumors. Our Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center location helps Idaho Falls patients suffering from prostate cancer, breast cancer, or other types of cancer with the latest in precision brachytherapy treatment.
High Dose Rate brachytherapy is a recent innovation in cancer treatment, shortening treatment times, reducing external radiation exposure, and placing radiation seeds more effectively. Until recently, Low Dose Rate (LDR) brachytherapy was the only type of brachytherapy available to the Idaho Falls community. However, Gamma West Treatment Services and Dr. Ryan Bair saw a need for a more effective form of treatment.
Patients suffering from prostate cancer no longer have to worry about radiation seeds becoming dislodged from the treatment area. With High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy, a single radioactive source remains in place and fewer treatments (3-10 on average) are required.
Gamma West Cancer Services stays current with the most up to date cancer treatment technology. Whether we’re bringing a new form of brachytherapy treatment to Idaho Falls or researching new form of robotic surgery, we’re proud to say that we fight cancer with everything we’ve got.
As a board-certified Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Ryan Bair uses High Dose Rate Brachytherapy in Idaho Falls to aggressively target prostate cancer, breast cancer, and many other types of cancer. Dr. Bair completed a fellowship for radiation treatment at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and at Harvard Medical School. His Residency was completed at the University of Chicago Medical Center and he graduated from the University of Utah medical school with honors.
